Guinea officially the Republic of Guinea (French: République de Guinée), is a country in West Africa. Formerly known as French Guinea (French: Guinée française), it is today sometimes called Guinea-Conakry or Guinea to distinguish it from its neighbour Guinea-Bissau and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. It has a population of 10,057,975 and an area of 246,000 square kilometres (94,981 sq mi). Guinea China Relations

The traditional friendship and cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Guinea enjoyed steady development in 2010.

The two countries maintained exchanges at various levels. In December, President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sent messages of congratulations respectively to their Guinean counterparts, i.e., the newly elected President Alpha Condé, new Prime Minister Mohamed Saïd Fofana, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Compatriots Edouard Gnakoye Lama on their assumption of office. In October, Minister of Economy and Finance of Guinea's transitional government Kerfalla Yansane led a delegation to attend Guinea's National Pavilion Day at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.

Health cooperation between the two countries continued to develop. China sent its 22nd medical team to Guinea in August.
