The friendly and cooperative relations between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Lesotho grew steadily in 2010.

The two countries maintained sound momentum of high-level exchanges with continuously enhanced political mutual trust. From 2 to 6 October, King Letsie Ⅲ of the Kingdom of Lesotho came to China for the Lesotho National Pavilion Day and visited Xian. From 29 October to 2 November, Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili came to China for the opening ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo and visited Hangzhou. Premier Wen Jiabao met with him in Shanghai . In early February, Mothetjoa Metsing, Secretary General of Lesotho Congress for Democracy, the ruling party of Lesotho, headed a delegation to China.

Economic cooperation and trade between the two countries enjoyed steady growth and the bilateral cooperation projects made smooth progress. The projects under the FOCAC Beijing Summit framework were fully implemented in Lesotho. The two sides discussed plans for implementing in Lesotho the projects identified in the eight new measures for assisting Africa put forward at the fourth FOCAC Ministerial Conference. The first phase of Lesotho's communication network upgrading project supported by China's concessional loans was completed successfully.

Fruitful outcomes were achieved in the two countries' cooperation in other areas. The art troupe from China's Hunan Province staged successful performances in Lesotho in mid-February. In late September, an art troupe from Lesotho visited China, attended the activities of African Cultures in Focus and gave successful performances on the Lesotho National Pavilion Day at the Shanghai World Expo. A total of 78 professionals from Lesotho received training in China throughout the year.
