Slovakia-China Relations

The Expo 2010 in Shanghai will further push forward bilateral relations between China and Slovakia, China's new ambassador to Slovakia, Gu Ziping, said Wednesday.

Both countries highly value the Shanghai Expo, and have exchanged a series of promotion programs that are expected to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation, Gu told Xinhua.

He also looked forward to a brighter future for economic ties between the two countries, as more and more Chinese enterprises have been investing in Slovakia.

Statistics from the Statistical Office of Slovakia show that trade volume between the two countries amounted to 3.27 billion euros (4.18 billion U.S. dollars) in 2008.
