Embassy of Senegal in China

Senegal, officially the Republic of Senegal, is a country in West Africa. It owes its name to the Sénégal River that borders it to the east and north. Senegal is externally bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, and Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south; internally it almost completely surrounds the Gambia, namely on the north, east and south, except for Gambia's short Atlantic coastline. Senegal China Relations

Over the past five years, both countries have maintained close high-level contacts, deepened mutual understanding, consolidated mutual political trust, maintained close coordination and cooperation in international affairs and extended each other support on issues that concern their major interests, Hui added.

China is very delighted to see that both countries have made remarkable achievements in economic and trade cooperation, as well as in their win-win cooperation in agriculture, fishery, telecommunications and infrastructure.

China is willing to continue working with Senegal to tap potential for bilateral cooperation to benefit the people of both countries, Hui said.

For his part, Ndiaye said over the past five years, the Senegal-China relations have been advancing with big strides and the two countries have implemented a series of cooperation projects, becoming one of the important examples of China-Africa cooperation.

Senegal is sincerely grateful for China's great support for its economic and social development and is willing to work with China to sum up their cooperation experience so as to further promote bilateral ties, Ndiaye said.

During the meeting, the two sides reached broad consensus regarding the continuous development of bilateral ties.

After the meeting, Hui and Ndiaye attended a signing ceremony of a number of bilateral cooperation agreements.
